Scope

Where Warehouse Cleaning Goes Wrong

Many warehouses get cleaned like an office with a big room attached. The break room feeds every shift and gets wiped once a night. Nobody looks above the racking, where the dust sifts onto product.

We write the scope by zone, each on its own calendar, and name anything we don't do before you sign.

Send elsewhere

  • Cleaning process equipment or machinery, running or locked out
  • Hazardous materials and chemical spill cleanup

What we clean in a warehouse

Tap a number

In a warehouse the dust overhead ends up on your pallets, and the offices, break rooms and restrooms run on the dock schedule.

Room 01 / 01 · Pin 1 Per job

Roof joists and beams

What it looks like

High dusting starts at the roof deck and works down, so the dust ends up in a bag instead of on the pallets. Above 20 feet a lift-certified crew runs a lift or a high-reach HEPA dust vacuum along the top and sides of each joist and beam. Nothing gets blown down with compressed air, and the aisle under the lift stays closed while it works.

Steps

  1. Close the aisle under the lift
  2. Vacuum joist tops, then the sides
  3. Work bay by bay, top down
  4. Never blow dust down with air

High Dusting

We vacuum everything above normal reach, so the dust ends up in a bag instead of on your pallets.

Above 20 ft
Lift-certified crew; lifts or high-reach HEPA dust vacuums
Method
Vacuumed, never blown down with compressed air

Dust that can burn (wood, paper, flour, sugar, plastic, metal) is also an explosion risk. OSHA inspectors have long used a benchmark from NFPA 654, now part of NFPA 660: a layer 1/32 of an inch deep, about the thickness of a paper clip, over 5 percent of a room's floor area, with joists and beams counted toward that area.

Manufacturing & Industrial Facility Cleaning

In a plant, the cleaning crew works next to production and stays out of it.

Industrial Floor Care

Sealed concrete in a break room or corridor wears in the traffic lanes first.

Floor types
Sealed and polished concrete, VCT, ceramic tile
Concrete
Cleaned on the recurring visit, resealed when the sheen fades
VCT
4–5 coats of finish, stripped once a year, buffed in between

We book VCT strips for September, while the air is still warm and dry, since humidity slows dry time between coats. A one-off reset before an audit or a new tenant is one-time commercial deep cleaning.

05 / 06

Industrial Post-Construction Cleaning

A new tilt-up or warehouse tenant improvement leaves construction dust on every joist, duct and ledge.

Phases
Rough clean, then final clean (CSI MasterFormat 01 74 23)
Overhead
High dusting before the racking and inventory go in

Phases and project types are on our post-construction cleaning page.

We respond the same day or next business day, and the re-clean is free.

Questions

Common Questions About Industrial Cleaning in Portland

How much does warehouse cleaning cost in Portland?

Our published rate is $45–$75 an hour per technician. Facilities over 10,000 sq ft run $0.07–$0.15 per square foot a month at roughly weekly service. High dusting is quoted per job after a walkthrough.

What is high dusting?

Cleaning everything above normal reach, from roof joists and ductwork to racking tops and light fixtures. Above 20 feet our lift-certified crew uses lifts or high-reach HEPA dust vacuums.

How often should a warehouse be high dusted?

It depends on the building. If your plant has a dust hazard analysis or a written housekeeping program, we schedule to it. Otherwise we set the interval from the dust we find and how fast it comes back.

Do you clean around active shifts?

Yes. Most visits run between shifts or overnight, away from active aisles and loading zones. High dusting closes the aisle under the lift, so it goes on a weekend or a shutdown day.

Do you serve industrial parks in Vancouver, WA?

Yes. We work the Port of Vancouver area, east Vancouver and Hazel Dell on the same terms as our Oregon accounts.

Do you clean production equipment or machinery?

No. Machinery, running or locked out, stays with your maintenance team or an equipment cleaning contractor. We never apply or remove lockout locks.
